The Chocolate Masquerade Ball and Dessert Showcase is an annual party with dessert awards, chocolate cocktails and special dessert tastes. With a Black Tie and Masquerade Ball theme this is the best tasting Halloween party in the city!

Petite Opera Torte - 3 layers of chocolate biscuit filled with chocolate mousse, coffee, bavarian creme and espresso creme, garnished with a marbled chocolate tile by Coastal Midst chef Kevin Shaw

Chocolate Decadence Crunch Ozush - Burnt Short Bread with Orgasmic Chocolate Mousse by Chef TIberio Simone, La Figa.

Absinthe Truffles, Chocolate Covered Bacon and Blue Cheese Chocolate Truffles by Jeff Shepherd of Lillie Belle Farms.

Flour-less Chocolate Cake (Gluten Free!) Rolled in Mukilteo Coffee by Jess Dowdel of Mukilteo Coffee

Farmer Spotlight

Going against the tide of cacao hybridization and monoculture Barbara Wilson and Joe Meza of Mindo Chocolate are working with farmers in Ecuador to preserve heirloom and fine flavor beans. They encourage farmers throughout the region to identify heirloom cacao varieties by collecting samples from for the Cocoa Genome Project conducted by the USDA. Mindo Chocolate hopes to connect Ecuadorian farmers with artisan chocolate makers at the NW Chocolate Festival to support heirloom preservation.
